My father being the man he is, still has to make sure I'm checking my oil on a daily basis. Maybe not daily, but at least weekly. Everytime I stop by my parents' house, he must make sure my oil level is okay. I try to assure him its alright but in his eyes its not.I can usually go two weeks at a time without checking my oil. And when I do check, the level is always fine. But is it better to check more often than that? I don't believe so. Especially if you have a smaller car like I do. You really don't get much smaller than a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier.
But my father has a 1999 Ford F-150, so he probably has to check that more often than a little car like mine. Plus my car gets about 15 more miles to the gallon than his truck does, so you have to take that into account.
