CarInsuranceQuotes.com offers articles and tips related to car insurance and we help consumers easily find reputable auto insurers by zip code. Our goal is to educate consumers about car insurance and help them find car insurance quotes that fit their needs.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We were tired of all of the insurance sites that did not have a very simple system to find car insurance companies. So, we built an easy zip code locater and packed our site full of car insurance resources.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is one of the first I have launched on my own :)
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We picked CarInsuranceQuotes.com because our primary concern is in the car insurance quote market. What better name than having the exact domain name?
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It is very easy to use and makes finding the right car insurance company super simple. Also, we have tried to build a very clean layout and have added resources and articles to educate consumers.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
We would like to build this site up and run it for years to come.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We are definitely over-investing in time and money right now but aim for our website to become a category leader within a year. Hopefully, the success will follow.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would add thousands and thousands of pages of rich and useful content.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. Our hosting environment can scale with the demand.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
There are always challenged and unforeseen needs when it comes to technology development. Many "easy" fixes take longer than one would think.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge has been getting ourselves motivated to start executing instead of just talking about the dream. Here we are, finally launched.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We just launched the new site, but so far direct navigation and pay per click has been very successful.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
We learned right away that you have to be an active marketer. There is no such thing as "if you build it, they will come".
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We have been running this site for a few weeks and aim to keep it up forever.
Why did you choose to build a site about car insurance?
We felt that car insurance shopping is a tedious task and wanted to create a very easy user experience. If one customer finds the right car insurance policy through us, we will be happy!
